Janine Baker (she/her)

Janine has over 25 years’ experience working in mental health, specialising in working with women, adolescents, and families. She has previously held roles as an adolescent and family counsellor for seven years working with complex family issues using various therapeutic approaches. She provides psychological support for young people and families. She specialises in working therapeutically with adolescents.  Her therapeutic experience includes but is not limited to; anxiety, depression, complex trauma, family and relationship challenges, domestic violence, anger issues, grief and loss, body image, self-esteem, life transitions and developing habits of self-care.

For the past eighteen years she has taught youth work and community services at TAFE part time, coordinating the youth work Certificate 4 and Diploma courses. She has taught subjects such as communication skills, counselling and mental health.

Janine provides clinical support and supervision to other therapists and social workers.

Janine takes a compassionate, caring, and holistic approach. Her practice is grounded in principals of Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She believes in building positive therapeutic relationships founded on trust and safety.
